Student 1

I used HeartMath when I was taking a test and it did help. For example, I used it on my last Algebra II test ad I got a 96%-A, which is not what I usually receive. Usually I get a B or C on my Algebra II tests.

I also used HeartMath in other subjects, such as English. When I used it in that class, I also did a better job on my work.  I did not feel like I forgot anything, and received a good grade!

Another way I have used HeartMath was in my personal life. When I feel that I am stressed, I freeze-frame and I focus on my heart. Once I Freeze-Frame, I think more clearly and I am not as stressed!

I think that HeartMath has been helpful.

Student 2

Situation I – I had to type a paper for research and was having trouble thinking on what to write. So I stopped. I then started using HeartMath. A few minutes later I was typing away.

Situation 2 – When I was taking a math test, I couldn’t remember some of the equations I needed to solve the problems.  I took a few moments to use HeartMath and I finally did remember.

Situation 3 - Sitting at home, I was trying to do homework and couldn’t remember what to do, so I paused for a minute and used HeartMath to figure out how to do my homework.  Yes, HeartMath is helpful.

Student 3

There have been a few instances regarding tests that HeartMath has helped me with.  On a few Chemistry and Math tests I became very worried and stressed, but I remembered to use Freeze-Frame. This calmed me down and allowed me to let my thoughts flow.

Another instance was a presentation in English class. I am a shy, solitary person and I sometimes get very stressed with presentations.  However, I used what I learned from HeartMath and was able to present my topic efficiently.

Some other instances included when I am doing some computer programming at home.  Sometimes I get flustered, but I use Freeze-Frame and can solve the problems with my code.

I would have to say that in all the instances I use Freeze-Frame, the outcome has been good!

Student 4

Three situations that I had when I used HeartMath, was at work, when I had to remember what to do for the day, and it help me to concentrate on my work, without any distractions.

Another situation was while reading a book, usually I can’t retain any information, but with HeartMath I could.

Another situation where I used HeartMath was for a test in a different subject.  I was able to bring back information that I forgot I ever knew.  HeartMath has been very helpful to me and it is something that will make me a more efficient person.

Student 5

One situation in which HeartMath helped me was when I took my placement test for college.  I was nervous because I wanted to get into good classes. Using HeartMath helped me to calm down and stay focused on taking the tests.

Another situation is whenever I e-mail or write my boyfriend, who recently left to work in Utah over the summer.  I use HeartMath to calm down and say what I want to say without sounding angry, upset, and panicked.

Another situation in which I use HeartMath is at work. Working at Coney Island, I’m around people all the time; being an assistant manager the questions/concerns/complains all come to me.  In order to answer them or handle the situation without taking it personal, I use HeartMath.  It’s helped calm my nerves a lot.

Student 6

My boyfriend broke up with me 3 days before my Junior Prom and I had to find another date.  Using HeartMath, I was able to get another date the next day.

Another time, I was taking a test in Chemistry, and I could not remember the equation for the test.  I had 3 minutes left and I used one of those minutes to do HeartMath. Anyways, I ended up getting a 90% on the test and bring my Chem grade up.

Finally, last week during the league meet in track, I had to run hurdles and my coach wanted me to switch my blocks around and run off my other foot. This would mess up my footing, steps, and hurdles altogether. I told him I would. I did Freeze-Frame and ran. I got my best time.

Student 7

I used HeartMath when I was taking an important English test and it helped me to not be as nervous. I also used it before an interview I had to do at school for a grade and it helped calm me down a little but; but I was still a little nervous.  I also used it before I took the ACT and it helped me to stay calm and perform well. HeartMath helped me not to be as nervous.

Student 8

For one whole unit in my class I didn’t take notes or do my homework. I listened well. I did my Freeze-Frame on the test and I got a 94%. I felt that taking everything in and being focused helped me a lot.

Another time I was driving and I was very angry. I took a moment to shift and focus; and completed the drive home without doing anything stupid.

Once I was arguing with my mom because she is stupid and mean. I Freeze-Frame, and thought of a good thought.  I was calm and I didn’t let the argument get out of hand.

Student 9

HeartMath has obviously helped in my Algebra II class. The last test using Freeze-Frame I scored a 97%. It really calmed me down and opened my mind to clearer thinking.

I have used Freeze-Frame during track. Although it doesn’t necessarily make me any faster it does relieve my before race jitters, allowing me to be fully prepared.

I have used Freeze-Frame during band. I hate the feeling of having to play a hard part in front of the whole band by myself. I get so nervous sometimes that my hands shake and my mind goes blank. Freeze-Frame has never totally cleared the problem but I have seen a significant improvement in my playing alone in front of people.

Student 10

I used HeartMath in math class when Mrs. Seals gave us an impromptu presentation assignment. I think it helped a little on the presentation because I didn’t feel nervous.

One day I became very angry with someone in my family.  I felt like yelling at them, but instead, I just closed my eyes and used the Freeze-Frame techniques. It was helpful.

In school I had a very bad headache and it was causing me to lose concentration on my schoolwork. I actually didn’t think it would help me since I was sick, but I tried Freeze-Frame, and it did help me get my mind off my pain and concentrate on my work.

Student 11

I was at home, on my computer looking up a picture for a project. I got really frustrated when I couldn’t find the picture I wanted. I was yelling at the computer. I remembered that I needed to just take several deep breaths and figure out why I was so stressed. The HeartMath was helpful.

In math class or even when I am doing home work I get mad because every now and then I seem to forget what I am doing but once I realize what the problem is I use the HeartMath and then I am able to do the problem.

I have found HeartMath helpful when taking English tests. The teacher makes them super hard. So I use HeartMath.

Student 12

There were many instances in which I used HeartMath. First off, I tried to Freeze-Frame everyday before class.  This helped me understand the concepts and grasp them more easily. I also used it before every test I took--not only math tests, but also English and the other classes.  The last place I used it was at any stressful encounter I had whether at home, school, my parents, and friends. Any time I got frustrated or upset I tried to Freeze-Frame and focus from head to heart.

Student 13

When my boyfriend got arrested I had a hard time concentrating and I used HeartMath to help me focus on my work. It did help when I used it. I could tell when I was and wasn’t using it.

Another time was doing all my tests. I would get stressed and use the HeartMath and it helped me pull things from memory.

It would also help me sleep at night. If I couldn’t sleep I would use it to help me clear my mind of all problems and focus on breathing and happy things and it would help me fall asleep.

Student 14

I think it was helpful, but it did take more time than I thought it would. I used HeartMath on the ACT. Not just on math but through all of it, so I could focus. I also used it on a Chemistry test the other day.  I looked at the test and froze.  I shifted and focused and ended up with a 100 on the test. Another time I used it is when I was totally stressed at when studying Spanish. I just didn’t seem to be getting it. I went through the 5 steps and that seemed to help me be able to get rid of my stress and able to study.

Student 15

On a recent chemistry test which was really hard, I got stressed out, then I focused with the Freeze-Frame and I was able to remember all the difficult formulas that I needed and pass the test.

Sometimes during sport activities I get mad at myself and do very badly. One time I used Freeze-Frame and I let all of my stress go and just had fun. In the end, I performed better than I expected.

In math I have a hard time but by breathing and focusing on the positive I was able to remember things tat I needed to know.

Student 16

I used HeartMath when working at the boards in class. Learning on my own is more difficult than with a teacher, so I really needed to focus.

I used this when my mom and I got into a fight. Instead of yelling back I tried getting my attention on the good part.

I used HeartMath, just this morning. My boyfriend just broke up with me, but I knew I had other things that needed my attention. I shifted to a happier place to accomplish what was necessary.

It’s helpful now that I realize the extent of everything.
